Improve the standard of living of local populations

CIS Chad carries out social actions every month to help disadvantaged populations both in N'Djamena and around our areas of operations (literacy courses, water drilling, donations, etc.).

We remain proud of the Vegetable Cooperative project that CIS developed with the populations of the regions of Doba, Moundou and Bébedja during the construction phase of Komé's infrastructure, a project welcomed by the IFC, International Finance Corporation.

For more than 20 years, CIS activities have created more than a thousand jobs, particularly in the Doba basin. CIS has long been engaged in the nationalization of its positions of responsibility: 97% of the staff of CIS Chad is Chadian, thus participating in the development of Chad.

Education and well-being of children

Particularly attached about childhood, education, schooling and training of young adults, CIS Chad supports and accompanies several orphanages in N’djamena.

Donations of books and school materials, donation of clothes, renovation of classrooms, creation of a library, donation of food, access to electricity…: these are all actions carried out by CIS Chad to offer Chadian children a better chance to succeed in their school career and improve living conditions.

For several years, ¨ CIS Chad has supported the “Dieu Bénit” orphanage in N'Djaména, which welcomes and cares for a hundred orphaned children. Beyond covering their primary needs, Sephora, head of the orphanage, provides them with all the education they need until their 18th birthday, the objective being that each child ends their school career with a professional training.

«  For these children, I am a mother, a sister, a friend they can always count on. They grow up to the age of 18 before going on their own if they wish. My role is not to cut ties with parents, but on the contrary to reinsert them with the assurance that they are protected. »

Séphora,
Head of the Orphanage “Dieu-Bénit”
